I was lost. I just finished my first year in college because my parents were paying for it and that’s what you do, right? Well, unless you want to be a total loser. What my dad didn’t know was that the college had an option to spend freshman year just taking core curriculum classes and wait until sophomore year to declare a major, and that’s what I did. The problem was that freshman year was over and I still didn’t know what to major in. I had no fucking idea what to do with my life. The only thing I seemed to be successful at was posting sexy pictures of myself on social media. You can be sure my dad didn’t know about that! Anyway, I was starting to get quite a following. I was even thinking that maybe I should try Only Fans. I mean, if people like it, why give it away for free, right? Then I get this strange message. This organization called the Cabal has been watching me. They know everything. My social media, my grades in college, my dipshit job at my uncle’s hardware store, who my friends are. Everything. I would have just thought it was some bullshit scam but it took work and connections for them to get the info they had on me. I even took my computer and had it scanned to see if they hacked my system. Nope. Nothing there. Nothing the computer shop could find, anyway. This was serious undercover spy vs spy shit. So they said they had a proposition that would be very well worth my time and if I was interested, be at the Starbucks at the mall Saturday afternoon. So we were meeting out in public at a food court. I mean, if they wanted to kidnap me, they could obviously do that anytime they wanted. I show up and I know who I’m supposed to meet right away. I mean, he’s sitting there in this expensive suit, looking like James Bond, or something. I mean, seriously? Nothing like being discreet. I get a coffee and go sit at his table. He doesn’t introduce himself but he slides an expensive business card across the table and starts to talk. He’s a representative of an international business network called the Cabal and they could use an intelligent good looking open-minded young man like myself. I’m not a fool, I was like, do you work for the mafia…or the CIA? He said “Think of us as an NGO, non-governmental organization. Closer to the mafia than the CIA.” Then he told me that I wouldn’t be asked to do anything illegal. They make sure their young men aren’t exposed to that. But I asked if that wasn’t what the game was. He said it was complicated. They have legitimate business interests but international legal regulations are complicated and sometimes it’s just easier to ignore them to get stuff done...
