All of the Boys for sale at the collective’s auction must have a periodic appraisal. This is usually done every other time they are sold, unless a Master holds onto them for two years or more, then they must be appraised before they are resold. With such large amounts of money changing hands, buyers have to be able to trust the auctions and the quality of the merchandise. It’s important to make certain that the Boys are physically fit, mentally healthy, and that their service still meets the ratings that former Masters have given them, not to mention the gossip circulating about them in the community. Three Masters are chosen to do the appraisal. A Master has to have owned at least two slaves to have his name added to the lists that appraisers are chosen from. That is done in a way that gives everyone a chance at appraising the boys up for sale, but creates random pairings so that they are rarely in the same group. It was just by chance that myself, Master Legrand, and Master Snow were chosen to appraise Boy Serg. We are all his previous owners and generally that would not be allowed, however, Master Legrand and Master Snow are senior members in our community and their judgment would be accepted without question. There is nothing to be said about Boy Serg, anyway, beyond the fact that he is exquisite. He has a natural slave’s heart and his service is impeccable at all times. He was never valued for a slim boyish innocence that he might be in danger of growing out of. He is the epitome of youthful virility, with a gracefully muscular body worthy of classical Greek statuary. As long as he stays fit, he will be a desirable property for years to come, if he wants to continue his service. Being an appraiser is a very desirable role. It is, of course, a position of trust and mark of distinction in the Collective. However, on a more personal level, it is an opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of a boy without purchasing him, and perhaps using one that you could not ever afford to own. None of the boys placed on the block are actually undesirable, but even the comparatively less desirable boys, still have fit bodies, warm mouths, and tight holes, certainly well enough to satisfy any Master’s immediate desires...
